The Changing of the Guard on Flickr.

The changing of the guard in Budapest Parliament House happens at midday. The guards are guarding one of the national treasures - King Stephen’s Crown, over 1000 years old and worn by the first King of Hungary. Each guard walks in identical step, military precision at its finest. Their uniforms immaculate, swords at the ready. They have to stand for three hours without moving, just like the beefeaters in London. Not only that but they get to work in one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe.
I love the way the yellow light is so dramatic when combined with the uniforms. I’ve been so impressed by the way my D7000 handles low light levels when coupled with the 24-70mm f/2.8. I can even crank it up to ISO 6400 and get reasonable images.
This was taken at 1/80, f/2.8, 55mm, ISO 1250
